function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot SHAAB HUMDALLAH Map Site At the southernmost point of the large and flat plateau surrounding Shaab Sheer lies Shaab Humdallah It is a composition from high Ergs which extend from 18m depth to the surface They are arranged rather like the five on a dice The middle Erg is the smallest but also the most colourful magnificently covered with soft corals The southernmost Erg is heavily over hanging and is extraordinarily richly covered with sea fan corals The northern is the largest Erg and possesses a tunnel in the centre inside is hung with soft corals and in the west is the Erg with a channel through which you can swim Diving conditions This diving spot is rather like Hal Hal it offers no protection for the boats from the waves This means it can only be dived during very calm conditions Currents can occur from nonexistent to uncomfortable they are however never so strong that you can´t dive here Dive plan Simply circle the Ergs in any order You should not dive through the tunnel as even your bubbles can tear off the soft corals Also watch carefully if you dive through the channel in the Erg A large intact table coral is growing there so watch your bouyancy In the south there are a couple nore Ergs however these five are sufficient for a dive Underwater life Over 100 masked butterfly fish live between the northern Erg and the Erg with the sea fan corls whereas in the tunnel some small honeycomb groupers feel at home At the towers innumerable dragonsheads and hunchbacked dragonsheads can be found and at several places on the sandy seabed between the Ergs devil fish are lurking for prey
