function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot SHAAB CLAUDE Map Site Shaab Claude is the second in a chain of small reefs south of the east end of Shaab Sheer It has an easily recognisable Erg at its south side At its southwest corner is a long crest with several Ergs which have grown together in the shallower area At 4 6m you can swim between them The entire reef stands on a sandy seabed at 15 18m Diving conditions The reef is relatively well protected by the northern reefs The current however can be very strong here with a speed of several knots It is then even impossible to dive behind the Ergs Dive plan The reef is small enough to dive around it in one dive We suggest you dive in an anticlockwise direction In this way you can dive the small channels of the outerlying crest At the end of this crest the reef has an amazing over hang and at a depth of 12m a few large and intact sea fan corals can be found Underwater life The current seems to be stronger on the eastern side of the reef and therefore offers a higher concentration of fish than on the west side A marked and yellow snappers form small schools here at the north end where the current divides itself Likewise a small banner fish hides here Short and long nose doctor fish patrol along the reef and turtles burr fish and different parrot fish are at home here Sometimes you can see single yellow seam trigger fish
