function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot GAMUL SORAYA Map Site Less than 15 minutes outside of Safaga is Gamul Soraya It is the second in a chain of reefs which stretch out northwards from Safaga Island It is roundish and four Ergs line it in the south east Only two of them can be seen from the surface Diving conditions You can go to Gamul Soraya in all weather conditions Should it be too rough then go to the outer reef then this will be the best place to do a good dive The current comes from the north divides itself and flows by on both sides of the reef Dive plan Dive directly to the Ergs on the south east side of the reef on the way don´t forget to check out the garden full of sand eels The large Erg which is nearest the reef climbs up there from 13m deep On the outerside at 16m stands a 6 7m hollow tower with sea fan coral inside it 60m further south from here is a picturesque horseshoe formed Erg and a further 70m from here is the best Erg of all It stretches from 18m deep up to the surface and on the south side is oversturated with glass fish cardinal fish and silverbacks of course also with their natural enemies When you´ve finished at the Ergs check how much air you have left If you have more than 100 Bar then you go around the reef and if not then work your way slowly back to the boat Underwater life On the Ergs you can see schools of breams bat fish large eyed street cleaners sweetlips banner fish fusiliers and red and black snappers Redmouthed groupers and lionfish can always be found chasing the glass fish In the many crevices along the main reef you can find hassar soldier fish and cardinal fish Snowflaked groupers and crescent moon jewelled grouper together with schools of sweetlips cruise along the reef and blue spotted rays are very common Rarities By the hollow tower there is a green Anemone whereas a frog fish lives on the main reef and in 1997 a manatee was sometimes seen
