function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot FANOUS WEST Map Site On the westerly end from Fanous reef a narrow "fossa" or channel goes straight through the reef wall to a lagoon with 9m depth and a coral garden at 12 l4m There you will find two larger towers and many offshore coral towers Diving conditions Independently of the weather the boat can moor within the fossa Here it is sheltered in the lagoon during the time that the divers enjoy themselves outside The current travels along the outer reef wall from north east to south west If they are stronger then the best way is to do a drift dive by entering northerly from the Ergs and travelling with the current back to the boat Dive plan If you don´t choose the drift dive variation then swim through the fossa Don´t waste any time in the lagoon as there is as good as no life there On the corner you have the coice either to continue north easterly along the reef or to dive away from the reef A vaguely recognisable coral head can be found 20m away from the reef which leads directly to the outer Erg It is the prettiest on the north side Two larger towers can be found in the south Underwater life A vast number of the usual reef fish can be found here picasso trigger fish morays snowflake morays octopus squid butterfly fish and turtles Dolphins can be seen regurly her in the afternoon usually from north to south
