function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot FANOUS EAST Map Site This reef has many names Torfa el Fanous Dolphin Reef or Dolphin's Playground Whichever name you choose to use is up to you It is a narrow reef band around a large lagoon in gthe north west from Giftun Kebir On the east side a channel divides the reef from the mainland and it drops leisurely down to a coral garden with three colourful towers It takes about 45 minutes to l hour to get there Diving conditions In the lagoon it is always calm whereas the north side is exposed to the weather The current divides itself on the north side and goes off to the east and west along the reef so that the dive can begin at the light beacon and you can return through the channel Dive plan Swim 15m out towards Erg "A" the coral garden and Erg "B" The sea fan coral at the corner should be included in your dive before you return Underwater life It is not unusual here to see a school of 5 or 6 dolphins during the dive Turtles blue spotted rays eagle rays mackerels and baraccudas come together here The fascinating thing about this dive spot is that you can see some rare fish such as "Flügelroßfische" in the sand frog fish on the Erg and a very rare star gazer
