function click { if 1 && ;return false} if 1 && ;return false} } if 1 } document onmousedown click; Dive spot EL FANADIR Map Site Fanadir is a narrow ellongated reef a little northerly from Hurghada You can dive here on the south end on the east side or by good weather on the north end The illustration shows the east side which is the most popular because it is well protected from weather influences 4 flat rocky islands charachterise this area A flat hard coral wall drops away to a sandy ledge at 12m This ledge is about 50m wide and becomes narrower to the north At 20 25m it drops away to a great depth Diving conditions Current comes from the north and is usually gentle The south end and the east side are protected from the northerly or north westerly wind Dive plan The steep drop off is sandy without coral and very shabby Don´t waste any time here Dive into the shallow area at 12 15m and on your return at 3 4m deep The shallower the better Just north of the island there is a small but very photogenic coral head at 14m Here you can find glass fish cardinal fish soft corals etc And normally a resident stone fish 100m north from here are several very impressive sea fan corals Underwater life This spot is over populated with pipe fish They are the food for stonefish dragonshead and false stonefish which are here in plentiful supply This is probably the best place to observe stonefish Near the surface is teeming with silverbacks and sometimes you can see small swarms of tuna or mackerels hunting them Other inhabitants include snowflake morays octopus and many lionfish Occasionally angal fish violin rays mantas turtles and even hammerheads have been sighted
